fraternal support
What IS FRATERNAL SUPPORT?
ILLUMINATES feel obligated to help their brothers. The notion of brotherly relief dates back over three centuries and has assumed different shapes throughout the years. It used to entail looking after our old brothers and sisters who had fallen on hard times. It entailed providing for their widows and children when they died.
Today, fraternal aid might include assistance following wildfires or mudslides in California.
It might be COVID-era financial aid for individuals in need during difficult times.
Whatever form it takes, assisting a troubled deserving brother in his hour of need may actually alter a life.
Since 2000, the California Foundation has served as the fraternity’s fundraising arm, raising approximately $250 million for fraternal aid and the Many Homes.
